Lecturer. Contemporary History Department
unai.belaustegieta@ehu.eusUnai Belaustegi (unai.belaustegi@ehu.eus) obtained his PhD in Contemporary History in the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). He is Currently Lecturer at Contemporary History Department in the Faculty of Literature, in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Basque Country).
Graduated in History (2006) and Master in Contemporary History (2007) and Master Teaching in Secondary School (2007). Specialized in political cultures, he has obtained different pre-doctoral and post-doctoral scholarships between (2010 and 2019). In 2015, he published his first book on republicanism in Gipuzkoa (Basque Country) and after that, he has written two more books on Spanish Second Republic and the Civil War (1931-1916) and on Basque women history during the 20th century. Besides, he has published several papers and book chapters on republicanism, political cultures, democracy, prosopographic studies, history of press, public history and public memory. He has also coordinated some contribution books and organized national and international conferences.
He has made some researching stances in University of Nevada, Reno (US, 2013), University of California, Santa Barbara (US, 2015-2016), Universita' degli Studi di Messina, Sizilia (Italy, 2017-2018) and Sapienza Università di Roma (Italy, 2019).
As a teacher, he has taught in several degrees as Anthropology, Geography, History of Art, Sociology, Political Sciences and History, and also, in Master of Democratic Societies, State and Laws (Natal, Brasil). Nowadays he teaches in Master of Teaching at Secondary School (UPV/EHU).
From 2010, he is an active member of the established researching group, Biography and Parliament.
