Laura Vozmediano Sanz

Laura Vozmediano is Associate Professor at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU. She is a member of the Faculty of Psychology at the Department of Social Psychology and Methodology of Behaviour Science, where she teaches in both the Psychology and Criminology degrees.

Being a member of the Applied Criminology  (Crim-Ap) research group, linked to the Basque Institute of Criminology, her research work focuses on Environmental Psychology and Criminology. More specifically, she is interested on the analysis and prevention of crime, as well as how it is perceived by citizens; she also works on analysing and promoting urban quality of life, trying to contribute to the debate and construction of safe and friendly cities for all the social groups. Moreover, in order to promote the scientific research in Criminology, she has been Member of the Management Board of the Spanish Society of Criminological Research for three years (june 2015-june 2018).

She is co-author, along with César San Juan, of the book "Criminología Ambiental: Ecología del delito y de la seguridad" and the book: "Psicología Criminal". Morover, she is author of several articles and book chapters and has obtained a six-year research period from the National Committee for the Assessment of the Research Action (CNEAI). She has been awarded with the I Prize for promoting young researchers of the Spanish Society for Criminological Research, the IV Pinatel Prize to the best research on Criminology and the Extraordinary Doctoral Thesis Prize (2009-2010) at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU. In her teaching career, she has been rated “excellent” in the UPV/EHU Docentiaz assessment programme.
